Hi, I’m Ryan Moore, a freelance film composer and sound designer with a particular interest in American history and the American landscape. I was raised in Virginia, and its history, mountains, farmland, and small towns continue to influence the way I approach both music and sound. My Irish heritage has also shaped my musical instincts, especially my love of melody and music that carries a sense of history and place.

My scores draw on orchestral writing, expressive strings, piano, and atmospheric textures. I write closely to picture, always looking for what the story needs and how the music can support it without getting in the way.

My sound design follows the same approach, building environments, shaping effects, and creating a sonic world that feels natural, immersive, and connected to the story.

To me, music and sound are part of the soul beneath the image.
